Katharina and Peter have been a happy couple for seven years, but they have never lived together. The Munich gallery owner finally wants to give up her apartment in the big city and move in with Peter, who runs a small luxury hotel in Murnau, Upper Bavaria. But the decision to get down to business and turn the long-distance relationship into a common existence under one roof falls through for the time being, literally: Leaky pipes and soaked walls in the new house prevent them from moving in. Out of necessity, the two move into Peter's old place of residence, where his daughter Verena and her three children Saskia, Florian and Benni also live. Not really a problem, but when Verena has to rush to Chile to visit her husband who had an accident, Peter and Katharina take over the supervision of the teenage children - this is not how they had imagined their start in life together: keeping three wild children in check and at the same time with their own peculiarities of the other, which were not an issue with separate apartments. The situation turns out to be a real endurance test for the two of them. So Peter finds out that Katharina rearranges furniture and sorts out his favorite shirts as she pleases. Katharina, on the other hand, is quite stressed out by the unfamiliar hustle and bustle of family life. Nevertheless, she does well. She stands by the teenager Saskia in her love troubles, supports Florian's artistic ambitions and helps the young football talent Benni to get a trial at Bayern Munich. But she hadn't imagined that Peter would primarily take care of the hotel, where the visit of an anonymous tester caused a stir - the pink romance soon gave way to everyday life and the two realized that it was something different to be together to be or to live together. To make matters worse, Katharina then finds out that Peter is deliberately delaying the renovation of their house and thus living together within their own walls - is he getting cold feet? Now Katharina is finally bursting at the seams.
