After being slothful and lazy, Davey gets a dose of his own medicine. He quickly learns that helping others around the house is a way of showing love.

Davey decides to be a champion bowler and Sally a concert pianist; however, they quickly learn that it takes effort to achieve lofty goals.

Davey buys Goliath an expensive dog collar for his birthday using ten dollars he found outside a neighbor's house. Davey knows that the money belonged to the old lady and his conscience begins to bother him.

Davey learns the importance of honesty and doing his own schoolwork. The teacher, Miss Lindsey, tells the class that they are going to have a quiz the next day on Australia. Davey is overconfident with his tenuous knowledge of the subject, and procrastinates studying until he runs out of time. During the test, he copies the answers from his friend Jimmy, seated next to him. He gets a perfect score. Feeling bad and extremely guilty, Davey frets with figuring out what to do. Eventually, he realizes that cheating only hurts himself. He confesses to Ms. Lindsay the next day, who praises him for coming forward, but admonishes him that he must retake the test, but will not get full credit. Davey feels good.

Thoughtlessly Davey pours paint down a well. When he sees how others suffer because of his misdeed, he realizes we're all responsible for taking care of God's world.

Davey ignores "Do Not Touch" signs in a museum. Instead, he swings from a dinosaur skeleton's neck and cracks a bone.

Davey's friend Larry is afraid he won't be on a gym team. To ease his frustration, Larry wants to break school furniture, but Davey stops him

Davey's friend Jonathan is rescued by Officer Dan. Both boys learn appreciation for their police officer friend.

Davey and Jonathan help Tommy, a poor boy in their neighborhood, by collecting soda bottles for money.

Davey has trouble with Nicky, a new boy who continually boasts about his father. But Davey feels compassion when he learns Nicky doesn't have a father.

When Jonathan's cousin temporarily loses his sight through an accident, Davey helps teach him that friendship is color blind.

Davey and Goliath learn about the saying "Let George do it" when they visit Jonathan.
