Miaka's mysterious new classmate, Shigyou, creates chaos for her and Taka. Suzaku pulls Miaka and Taka back into the book. Chichiri gives Taka an orb, returning memories of being Tamahome. Shigyou's powers bleed into both worlds.
Miaka and the Celestial Warriors must find memory orbs and return them to Taka before he disappears forever. Shigyou reveals himself as a demon. Hotohori meets his son and an orb is found. Suzaku returns Miaka and Taka to the real world.
Yui tells Miaka and Taka about the demon. A new demon attacks Taka. Taka and Miaka return to the scroll world and meet Nuriko's brother. Miaka saves Taka and the Warriors defeat the demon's creature. Another orb is found.
Taka and Miaka are captured by Tenkou who then kills Miisu and Renhou and steals Taka's memories. A new demon attacks Tasuki, controlling him to take advantage of Miaka.Tasuki saves himself but Miaka is then kidnapped by the demon.
Chichiri discovers the new demon, Hikou, is connected to his past. Hikou uses Miaka to attack Yui in the real world from within the scroll. The Warriors defeat Hikou together. A new demon, Yousue, attacks the Celestial Warriors. Tamahome appears.
Taka's situation worsens as does the destruction in the real world. Tamahome was sent by Suzaku to aide in the fight against Tenkou. Taka finally understands his purpose as he connects with Tamahome and Tenkou is defeated.
