20/20 goes to the village of Johnsburg, Illinois, in order to investigate the December 2002 disappearance of Brian Carrick. He went in to his job at a grocery store and never returned. A co-worker Mario Casciaro is eventually arrested and convicted of murder despite the lack of a body, a weapon, or DNA evidence. In an exclusive prison interview, Casciaro claims that he is innocent of the crime.

20/20 looks at three dangerous women. "Love You to Death" looks at the Wausau, Wisconsin, case of Jessica Strom who tried to hire someone to kill her husband. "Hanging with Mrs. Cooper" interviews Lauren Cooper a teacher in Plymouth, Pennsylvania, who was arrested for having inappropriate relationships with four of her students. "Bombing Out" looks at the case of Aurora Barrera who assisted in a bank robbery claiming that there was a bomb strapped to her.

20/20 goes to Waukesha, Wisconsin to examine the May 2014 stabbing of 12-year-old Payton Leutner. Payton was at a sleepover with her friends Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier. The two girls lured Payton into the woods and stabbed her 19 times to impress the 'Slender Man'. Payton survived the attack and the two girls were arrested.
