The biennial Rolex China Sea Race is a 565 nautical mile race from Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong, through the South China Sea, to a finish in Subic Bay, the Philippines. The race has been held since 1962 and is considered by many to be the ultimate Asian blue-water offshore sailing event and one of sailing's great challenges.

A Royal Appointment
One of the most renowned distance races in the Mediterranean, the Giraglia Rolex Cup which celebrates its 62nd edition in 2014, is an offshore classic. The historic port of Saint-Tropez plays host to three days of inshore racing before the start of the main event, a 200 plus nautical mile charge across the Mediterranean . Following the departure the fleet heads through the idyllic Iles d'Hyeres before turning to cross the open sea and the symbolic rounding of the Giraglia, a rocky islet of Corsica, before racing to a spectacular finish, held for the first time, in Monaco. The race finish will celebrate the official opening of the magnificent, Norman Foster designed, Yacht Club Monaco, by the reigning monarch Prince Albert.

The Costa Smeralda provides a stunning backdrop and a variety of challenging conditions for the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, one of the highlights of the Mediterranean yachting season. The regatta is now an eagerly anticipated annual event and attracts a sizeable fleet of majestic yachts to Porto Cervo each September. 2014 marks the 25th edition of the competition and this programme will cover all the action in this visually spectacular event. The programme will also include a special feature on the luxury Swan range of yachts that make up part of the fleet, including a visit to their home boatyard in Finland.

The Middle Race
The Rolex Middle Sea race takes place in the heart of the Mediterranean and covers one of the most beautiful courses in the world. Starting and finishing in historic Valleta, Malta, the 606-nautical mile route includes the deep azure waters of Sicily and the Strait of Messina, the islands of Pantelleria and Lampedusa, and even features Stromboli's active volcano as a course mark.

Mention the leading ocean races in the world, and the Rolex Sydney Hobart is certainly in the top three. This 628-mile offshore race provides a tough test for skippers, tacticians and crews alike. A yachting classic, the race attracts a large, well-seasoned international fleet, ready to test itself against the challenging conditions. The 2014 race will be the 70th annual edition of the time honoured event and this programme will follow the fleet to see who will be crowned the overall winner.
