His teammates may call him 'steady Eddie' but his career has been anything but. World championships in numerous inshore classes, ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year, Baird's 30 year career reached its peak when driving Alinghi to victory in the 2007 America's Cup. At 50, there may be younger helmsmen around but there are few better match racers in the sport today. We profile Ed's life, career and his desire to stay at the pinnacle of the sport.
