The biennial Rolex China Sea Race is a 565 nautical mile race from Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong, through the South China Sea, to a finish in Subic Bay, the Philippines. The race has been held since 1962 and is considered by many to be the ultimate Asian blue-water offshore sailing event and one of sailing's great challenges.

Fortune Favours the Bold
The Giraglia Rolex Cup, which celebrates its 64th edition in 2016, includes one of the most renowned offshore races in the Mediterranean. The fleet will gather in the chic harbour of Saint-Tropez for three days of inshore competition before embarking on a 243-nautical mile offshore race to Genoa, Italy via the Giraglia, a rocky outcrop off the northern tip of Corsica. Created to rebuild ties between the French and Italian sailing communities following the second World War, the event has become a week-long celebration of Mediterranean sailing attracting close to 200 entrants. The race finishes in its traditional destination, Genoa.

The 606-nautical mile route takes in the Straits of Messina, the deep, azure waters of Sicily, the islands of Pantelleria and Lampedusa and Stromboli's active volcano as a mark rounding.
