The Rolex China Sea Race returns to the sailing calendar after a five-year absence. This Asian blue-water classic commences on April 5th from Hong Kong's iconic harbour and takes competitors 565 nautical miles across the South China Sea to Subic Bay in the Philippines. 2023 marks the 61st anniversary of this biennial Offshore Category 1 Race organized by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club. An international fleet will be attempting to break the Monohull Race Record of 47 hours 31m 08s set in 2016.

The Jewel of the Mediterranean
Created to foster relations between the Italian and French sailing communities following World War II, the Rolex Giraglia has developed into a historic and revered event in the Mediterranean yachting calendar. A world class fleet will gather in the chic harbour of Saint-Tropez for three days of inshore competition before embarking on a 241-nautical mile offshore race via the Giraglia, a rocky outcrop off the northern tip of Corsica, to the historic finish port of Genoa. 2023 marks the 70th anniversary of this Queen of Mediterranean regattas.

The 50th edition of the world's largest offshore race commences from the Royal Yacht Squadron on the Isle of Wight on July 22nd. The biennial 690 nautical mile race from Cowes to Cherbourg-en-Cotentin in France, via the celebrated Fastnet Rock off the southern coast of Ireland is a rite of passage for all sailors and one of the greatest spectacles in world sport. A record fleet of well over 400 yachts are expected to take on the challenge.

The final event in the Mediterranean sailing calendar, the Rolex Middle Sea Race continues to be a special experience. Starting and finishing in Malta's historic capital Valetta, with more than 600 challenging nautical miles in between, this course, anti-clockwise around Sicily, is a magical experience, taking in the Italian islands of Sicily, Stromboli, Pantelleria and Lampedusa. Tactically demanding and with fast changing weather conditions which require supreme skill, endurance, and patience, it is one of sailing's ultimate tests.

A Family Affair
