The Nautor Swan world championships start as soon as the Maxi's have resolved their battle. Upwards of 100 Swan yachts compete in this week-long regatta.

Each nation team participating at the Sardinia Rolex Cup 2006 will comprise three yachts: a Farr 40, a Swan 45 and a TP52.

Upwards of 30 boats - all identical in design - will race over four days in ten challenging races for the world championship crown, the World Cup. One of the most hotly competitive events on this years calendar takes place in Newport, RI, USA. Each crew is made up of four professional and five to six amateur sailors including the owner/helmsman. Racing is precise, tactical and intense and as with any world championship it will be representing most of the world's top sailing nations.
